The Place of Wonder
YOUR SMOKE and smell are your place of miracles.
JOSEPH was still too young to understand life when he saw the wonders of the future.
Excited, he shared it with his family, but his brothers hated him.
WHEN you tell your plan to an enemy, you arm him with what to use against you.
When you share your dream with people who do not know God, or see Him in your situation, you give them a reason to hate you.
PHARAOH hated the children of Israel.
When Moses and Aaron told him to let the Israelites go, he said, “Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.” (Exodus 5:1-2)
He increased their chores and kept them in Egypt against God’s will. But their place of adversity became their place of wonder and their place of testimonies.

SIMILARLY, Joseph’s brothers hated him.
They wanted him dead without knowing their lives were intertwined. (Genesis 37:18-20)
When you sabotage someone’s future, you damage your own life because your life is tied to theirs.
SAUL tried to sabotage David’s future when he tried to kill him.
He despised him because the women sang his praises and became David’s enemy for the rest of his days. (1 Samuel 18:7-29)
MIRIAM and Aaron despised Moses. They queried God's call on his life and belittled God’s grace over his ministry.
They spoke as if they were there when God called him. They talked as if God consulted them before He chose Moses.
These were their words to him: “Has the Lord really spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken also through us?”
Then God said, If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord will make Myself known to him in a vision, and I will speak to him in a dream.
But it is not so with My servant Moses; He is entrusted and faithful in all My house.
With him I speak mouth to mouth [directly], clearly and openly and not in riddles; he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?
And God made Miriam leprous for seven days. (Numbers 12:1-16)
Moses’ place of ridicule became his place of affirmation.
If God qualifies you, why do you concern yourself with the disqualification of men?
WHENEVER you stand in the way of a person walking in the Will of God, you walk into the crosshairs of God.
However, when you support the plan of God for a life, you enjoy the grace of God over that life.
THE Shunammite woman and her husband supported Elisha's call by preparing a permanent place for him to stay whenever he was in town. (2 Kings 4: 8-9)
Elisha prayed, and God gave them a son. (2 Kings 4:11-17)
When you mind God’s business, he minds yours too. (Matthew 6:33)
MORDECAI took his cousin in when she lost both parents.
He perceived God would do a great thing; when the king was looking for a wife, he took her to the king’s harem.
Mordecai knew her nationality and family background could impede her chances, so he advised her not to disclose them to anyone. (Esther 2:10)
Esther heeded her cousin’s instruction and did not divulge her race until the time came.
When you get your timing right, you save yourself some hardship and give yourself a chance to succeed.
Final Thoughts
YOUR PLACE of smoke and smell are your place of wonder; it is your place of miracles.
